uRISQ® Marks Cybersecurity Awareness Month with New Educational Series and Video Demonstration

October initiative provides small and medium-sized businesses—
and the security professionals who serve them—with practical information to
recognize cyber risks and strengthen everyday security practices

JENSEN BEACH, Fla. — October 5, 2026 — In recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, uRISQ has launched a month-long educational initiative featuring a series of cybersecurity articles, practical guidance and a new video demonstration designed to help small and medium-sized businesses better understand and address the cyber risks they face every day.

The initiative focuses on making cybersecurity understandable and actionable, particularly for SMBs that may not have dedicated cybersecurity teams or extensive technical resources. Throughout October, uRISQ will publish educational content addressing the human element of cybersecurity, business email compromise, ransomware, multifactor authentication and other risks that can have significant operational and financial consequences.

The need for continued cybersecurity education is underscored by recent industry data. Verizon’s 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report found that 62% of breaches involved the human element, including deception and unintentional mistakes. The same report found that ransomware was involved in 48% of the breaches analyzed.

“These numbers are significant, but cybersecurity awareness isn’t about frightening businesses—it’s about helping them recognize that relatively simple actions can make a meaningful difference,” said Leigh A.
